One of those clicky pencil things will never leak! :)

Bics do leak of you leave them in your arse pocket all day, upside down with you sitting on it, warming up the ink so it just flows out of the refill and fills your pocket...

Er no, you want the tip pointing up to the top of your pocket. With the cap on, preferably.

Best pens to not leak, and very nice to write with are Staedler Silver 404's, 50p at the local students union, last of ages and a very nice tip and cap.

you want the tip pointing down! otherwise,as said above, the ink warms up and leaks out the back.

I prefer them nice soft BIC ones, the ones that don't give you a throbing pain in your finger after an hours writing.
I've never had one leak on me

i'll swap you for this brilliant pencil in my hand-HB too :)

Parker pens- but not for fountains-unless you wanna pay a fortune. (No fine nibs available at a decent price)
or else one of those pens that cut through cans..

bic pens with their tops on wont leak but if you lose the top carry them nib side down in your pocket.

Ball point pens work using air pressure and a thick ink.

    how ball point pens write

the ink around the ball acts as a seal (like when you hold liquid in a straw with your thumb)

when the nib is pointing up the ink gets rubbed off the ball and the seal is broken (like when you take your thumb away from the straw) and gravity takes its course soiling trousers with wanton abandon.

so when used responsibly bics are the ones for me.
