80 min cd - overburn

    i have an 80 min blank cd -r and an album that runsa at 80mins 16 secs. how do i copy such a cd?

    Like videotapes, blank CDs usually hold slightly more information than rated. Your 80min/700MB CD probably holds about 703MB without overburning so just try it and see (in other words, if you're using nero, even if your burned doesn't support overburning, just ignore any warning message & burn it).

    In any case, if I remember rightly, 700MB will hold a litle more than 80 minutes of 16-bit 44kHz blah blah PCM audio so you should be doubly covered.

    It helps to record as "Disc at once" instead of the usual "Track at once" in Nero.

    I've found that most common or garden CDRs are grand for a couple of megs over the 700. 800 meg discs are available as well. Maplins have them.
