    Hello
can anyone advise what cable I will need to run from desktop to wireless router?

The desktop has ethernet slot which is connected to dsl modem.

I am planing to get wireless router (d-link di514) and run a laptop wirelessly.(using a pc card)
    Cheers

any old standard network patch cable will do the job.

Just plug your existing ethernet DSL modem into the WAN port on your router when you get it and connect your desktop to one of the ports in the router w/ the standard cable
