Ireland have France in their group, so I'd imagine we play them in France & have one match at Lansdowne. Story here.
    THE 2007 DRAW:

    POOL A:
    England
    South Africa
    Oceania 1
    Americas 3
    Repecharge 2

    POOL B:
    Australia
    Wales
    Oceania 2
    Americas 2
    Asia 1

    POOL C:
    New Zealand
    Scotland
    Europe 1
    Europe 2
    Repecharge 1

    POOL D:
    France
    Ireland
    Americas 1
    Europe 3
    Africa 1

<edit> Looks like we will have Argentina in our group again (Americas 1), that would be 3 RWCs in a row now!

    Quarter-finals:
    Winner pool A v runner-up pool B
    Winner pool B v runner-up pool A
    Winner pool C v runner-up pool D
    Winner pool D v runner-up pool C

    Possible Quarter-finals:
    Eng v Wales
    Aus v SA
    NZ v Ire
    Fra v Sco or Ita

    No no no

    its more like
    NZ v Fra
    Ire v Sco Ita

and then us vs either NZ or France (both tired by then) for a place against the Aussies in the final. That might possibly be the best possible draw for us

I wish I could share your optimism :D

Also if we topped our group and then beat Sco/Ita, we would play Eng/Wales in the semi (not NZ/Fra).

We were unlucky to get France, any other draw and we would be playing Aus/NZ/Eng at Lansdowne rather then having to go to France. Pity Argentina as well, having to play France & Ireland at their home venues.

No pity. We should never forget Lens.

I can't say i'm impressed with the way they run the game of rugby union, they take care of 3 to 4 countries and to hell with the development of other nations. It pointless as there is no future like this. And whats the story with doing the draw 4 years in advance ?

Hrm maybe Argentina would throw their qualification on purpose. If they finished #2 they'd be in with Aus and Wales. Going by current standards I'm sure most teams would rather Wales then Ireland.

Especially a team whois main power is the forwards.

Not so sure I'd agree with you there. Wales are looking more and more useful and if they can just source some forwards they could be a serious prospect for the world cup by then.

It is a long time away. Scotland might be good by then heh

I'd give out to your guys for being off-topic but I think it's possible to measure how long it's been since we won the championship in geological units...
