I'm not sure what forum exactly to post this in so I'm gonna try 3 or 4 that I think are relevant. My band are touring Kerry for two weeks of August and I was wondering about accommodation. What's the cheapest way considering it's two weeks, ten gigs, and to play it safe i'm gonna say that we'll probably get paid for half the gigs, about €50 each. Details are really limited at this point though.

Anyone willing to put us up for a night or two would earn themselves a free breakfast:P

I would suggest staying at caravan or camping sites.

Wow, this is kind of strange. Myself and my ex cycled around the Ring of Kerry and stayed in the cheapest places we could find in the middle of August too...

I'd suggest hostels / B&B's. Avoid caravan / camping sites. Apart from the fact that it could very well rain (camping sites etc tend not to be the driest), you want to be able to lock away your equipment if needs be.

The risk of getting it wet should have you steering clear of any dodgy enough places.

One of the B&B's we stayed in (Killorglin, I think) was on a farm. They had a few chickens, cows etc. Like I said, we were on a shoe-string budget so we bought lots of stuff like milk, eggs and cheese of the landlady.

So I guess that's my tip for the day: Go for cheap B&B's if you can, and some hostels have luggage rooms you can lock away your gear in.
