Im watching the remastered Alien movies at the moment and I am absolutely horrified with what they've done to Alien3. The best part of that movie always was the end where she killed herself and grabbed the alien coming out of her while she was falling. They've changed that to just her falling. Im half afraid to look at Resurrection.

Well Alien3 was the only one with significant changes made to it and, for the most part, I think they work. There's a nicer flow to the movie now. Okay, so they could have preserved that ending, but the beauty of your boxed set is that you can watch the theatrical cut of the movie if you so desire.

The beauty of my R1 Quadrilogy set is the box itself, it's lovely :D

    I kinda agree...
After watching the special edition today, and generally being very happy and impressed over the changes made in the film (Especially the opening sequence) the lack of Ripley's Queen bursting forth made the ending feel somewhat less than that of the original version.

Overall I would say it's a vastly better film, and the characters were much, much fuller. I especially loved Paul McGann's character, who was quite the interesting fecker compared to the rather one-dimensional fellow in the theatrical cut who's only role in the film seemed to be to get suspected of murder, then just disapeared. The scene where
they catch him in the mess hall covered in blood was great, and explained much better how he was suspected in the first place.

A good friend of mine got it not long after it came out, and we sat down for about 9 or 10 hours and watched them all in a row, excellent trilogy (we watched ressurection, but I still dont call it an Alien film, its awful), they redone most of Alien3, and I really liked what they done with it, the film flows so much better. As for the redone Ressurection, they hardly changed it, probably under the idea of 'you cant polish a turd'.
