Em....do all the things you used to do when the two of you had fun together.

On the other hand...you might not be able to re-ignite it. It might just be the case that the relationship has gone stale at which point the best thing to do is just end it, and look for this "ignition" in someone else.

Yeah, I think most of the time when a relationship goes stale it is just the beginning of the end.

    ...

Maybe something dramatic might reverse things? Like a surprise weekend in Paris in a lovely hotel? It's worth a shot...

If you are serious about giving it another shot, it's going to take time to build up the trust again in order to be comfortable with each other. Give it time, but keep seeing each other and doing stuff to build up a relationship again

I wouldn't agree to be honest. Relationships have their ups and downs and go through stale phases.

Best thing is to talk a lot and don't put yourselves under too much pressure. Cook a nice dinner at home? Go out on the beer together.

Do something daft and unexpected. Turn up at her place of work at lunchtime and take her for a picnic. Send her flowers for no good reason. Learn how to cook her favourite meal...

If I've learnt anything about women (which I probably haven't), it's that the unexpected is romantic. I've never known a woman that didn't find a bunch of carnations on an idle tuesday more romantic than ten dozen roses on Valentines day. You don't have to spend a lot of cash to make a romantic gesture. Sure a weekend in Paris is great if you can afford that kind of thing but if you can't maybe you could stretch to booking a hotel in town somewhere for a night? Take her out to dinner and then surprise her by going for a drink in the hotel bar and then "going to the bathroom" to return with a room key?

The key (imho) to romance is spontaneity... combined with a touch of originality and memory (i.e. if you see her eyes linger on an ad for a concert for just a few seconds to long to be merely glancing at it, surprise her with tickets for it etc.)

    Good luck mate!

    Great advice!

well its good that you're addressing the issue, obviously means you want the relationship to work.

how about spicing things up in the bedroom, not sure if you've gone down that road, but dressing up etc...

nice weekend away, doensnt have to break the bank, small gifts every now and then.

other than that................ maybe you need some time apart, a month or so, absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Thank you all for your advice.

And again thank you all for keeping it positive.

Though at times it can be difficult.

If possible, a holiday together is always nice.

I think a good holiday (even a weekend away) can remind you of how much fun you can have together.

It's also a great chance to do things that you would not normally do, both in the bedroom and out, if you know what I mean ;)

I have been married 13 years, happily, great advise about weekends away and spontineity. Have you talked, no television, no kids, nothing just talk. Ask how her day went, what she did, was she tired. Either rub feet or hair at the same time for brownie points.
    Good luck

PS as was said above all relationships have ups and downs, forget the downs live the ups forever.
