To be honest Mike when has prime time been put to good use on any irish station? Those shows are just more of an example that we as irish people cannot make good tv.

5 minutes of any of those programs and your IQ drops just a little bit.

    WanderLust was ok I thought.

Found it humurous. It was like a travel guide for the youth as well

Agreed, these programs are a feckin waste of time, not to mention they lower the IQ of anyone who watches them

Since when are game shows classed as reality tv?

Those shows are just more of an example that we as irish people cannot make good tv.

I have to disagree with this statement.

I have to say that as far as those shows go they are just as good as the Brit Reality TV. (The less said about Reality TV in the US the better).

I think Wanderlust was a good idea (true it is a game show but aren't most reality TV shows just that?)

Underdogs is a good example of good TV and a good Idea. (As was SOS and they where so cruel to the poor "TG4 Celebs", the nastier the better)

Cabin Fever was crap but that was down to the people. IMO. and the presenter.

But then to disprove this statement we would actually have to see RTE an TV3 make and effort.

but then us Irish cann't do anything.

Of the Irish stuff listed I've only ever watched Treasure Island (both series). It's a good idea, but then it's not an original Irish idea, so that explains it ;)
(The less said about Reality TV in the US the better).

I really do think American TV has a HUGE amount of crap reality shows but there are sone good ones. I really enjoy 'Survivor' (on TG4/Challenge TV) and 'The Amazing Race', but of course Sky One fúcked it up halfway through and put it in a graveyard slot-- not that I missed any episodes hehe.
Fear Factor is fun when they have to eat really gross stuff, but Joe Rogan is so very very annoying!
The Mole is another fun American reality show.
Oh and watching Big Brother 4 USA, it was ten times more entertaining than the UK ones. At least these people stabbed each other in the back for the money!! Oh Allison was great. She's on celebrity 'Amazing Race', but Sky haven't shown the series past the first season, grr!!

But reality tv is about as good as having hot pants full of hair lice tbh.The last good thing made on Irish tv was mailbag.(Those sarcasm or /joke tags would be good).Irish tv is a big joke.

    Well they could flood Austrailia.

the sad thing is this is a possiblity with RTE

RTE have never made a good tv program since Forty Coats (children's tv was about all they ever got right) But the absolute worst of their Reality TV shows has to be RTE news, Brian O Driscoll makes a great anchor, but only on a ship.

Assuming there's someone out there who actually watches reality teevee, what's this Inside 252 thing running on RTE all of next week? Something to do with a radio station?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Something to do with a bunch of wannabees turning radio DJs on the 252 frequency - it'll be awful with toe-curling bits thrown in I expect. Is being run in connection with People In Need.

    Mike.

Most of them were rubbish but thought wanderlust was good. There was some funny situations in that!

Anyone remember the program on UTV where they had to try and break out of a prision camp? I acctually thought that was a good reality tv show
