Does anyone know why Rob Redmond's www.24fightingchickens.com shotokan website has been shut down?

Well he just decided to quit for personal reasons as far as I know. He will no longer be participating in any online karate discussions, he's given it up (for a quieter life it would seem, so I can't blame him for wanting that).

As for what happened to the 24FC community, we (well a lot of us) and some new people are engaging in intelligent karate discussions galore on the Karate Underground forums hosted on Mark Groenewold's most excellent Karate The Japanese Way website.

    On with the show.

This isn't the first time Rob has done something like this, but this is far more extreme than his previous rattle-tossing, so I wouldn't be surprised if he really is packing the site in for good. I doubt he'll completely abandon online karate discussion forever, but it's a real pity that one of the best Shotokan resources on the internet has shut down. Some of us have heard rumours of a lawsuit threat being one of the reasons he closed 24FC down, but only a few know for sure. I don't see him being the type to come along and explain all. I only hope he goes ahead with his book, which I enjoyed reading until he took all bar the first chapter offline, and I also hope he considers publishing the content of 24FC on paper. I know hundreds of readers of his site would buy it, myself included.
