If I buy a vodafone N-gage for 99 euros and unlock it can I use that phone to get upgrade credit on o2?

I presume you can't but I was thinking that maybe the IMEI codes are not operator specific.

Anyone know if this would work?

    I wouldn't think so chabsey - :dunno:

I think o2 would ask you for the IMEI number - then tell you its not registered with them....

No. The suppliers of O2 phones (i.e. Radius Communications, Sigma Telecom & Brightpoint Ireland) give O2 a list of the IMEI's they have packed as Speakeasys. When you register for credit ... the Imei must match. Same applies for Vodafone handsets (2020 Supllies these) and Meteor (Sigma Telcom again).

    You see ... simple process.
