I have the transparent Icemat. A piece of beauty I must say. Only problem is it can be a bit cold. My sister solved the problem for me buy buying a pair of those wrist straps that joggers use, keeps my wrists nice and padded now.

    Bless her.

do you use it with optical or ball mouse?

I have MX mice, and i'm afraid it will make my mouse jerky!

One thing I find with the icemat is it can be cold. Despite this it makes your hand sweat from contact and it's pretty noisy without the teflon strips. It also can move around a bit on a smooth surface as the legs are glass also.

    Still a great mat though.

I use a speedpad which is nice and big, sturdy, cheap and doesn't budge. Not a bad looker either. It's plastic btw with a slightly textured surface.

I wouldn't mind some of those teflon strips though. Does anyone know where you can buy them on their own?

I have the black icemat 2nd edition and logitech mx 510 and tis great only thing is buy plenty of teflon tape or get hyperglides i haven't used the hyperglides yet but i use evergilde teflon tape. The teflon tape wears down fast enough if you play alot and you only get one strip in the pack i got my mat straight from Icemat.com and teflon tape from everglide.co.uk

Why don't you use an optical mouse and don't bother getting a mouse mat?

I use an optical mouse, but it peeled off the whole paint from my desk(****ty work)

when I started using normal pads, while navigating the cursor would suddenly jump! and make uncontrolled movements, so Icemat is the last hope!

I see, don't mind me being stupid.
