    Just wondering,
Is body heading over to the G3 concert in Manchester in June? I've heard from a trusted source that Brian May of Queen is the "Special Guest" this year :)

    Gonna be heading over myself.

It's Vai, Satch and Robert Fripp afaik but May may join in. Would love to see it. Would have loved to have seen it in New York - Vai, Satch, Malmsteen, Petrucci and some other guitar player who's name escapes me.

    Eric Johnson?
As far I know, Malmsteen was supposed to be on the list. Regarding Brian May, I think it's supposed to be a "surprise" appearance.

No, Eric Johnson was on the 96 tour and he wasn't in New York. Malmsteen played the American G3.

It is Robert Fripp although May too would be cool. He's played with Satch and Vai before.

I WAS at the G3 show in New York last November. Satch/Vai/Malmsteen with guest appearances from John Petrucci and Neal Schon.

What a night, it went on for a good 3 hours or so, though a lot of that was taken up just moving the equipment around for each artist.

I was thinking of trying to get over to the Barcelona show but I can't find any way to book tickets for the show over the net.

They are doing what, six show in England and 1 in Glasgow, why no Dublin, anybody know?????

Because this is Oirland and we don't like "technical" musicians here. Give us a stool, an acoustic guitar and a moaning mod and we're happy.

I've been lucky enough to see most of the above artists on solo shows.

It would be so great though... *drools* Gaaaaaawwwwww...

I missed Satch when he was playing in Dublin a couple of years back and I've been kicking myself ever since. I'd love to see G3 in Manchester. I've a video clip of Vai, Satch and May playing Liberty together and it's great!

Satch, while not as flamboyant as Vai, has a lot more enjoyable songs live. Vai changes costume every 5 minutes. Satch just ****in plays songs.

I prefer Satch over Vai tbh.
