trying to remember a cartoon i used to have the toy for when i was a kid. it could be thundercats but i don't know

the cartoon had these five pieces that joined up to make a bigger piece, like in transformers you know the standard torso, two legs, two arms type thingy.

anyway anyway one of the arms was green and was a cat, and then the legs where blue and yellow, the yellow one was also a cat i think and possibley blue one was like a triceratopes but i could be talking crap.

anywho any ideas on my very ambiguous description?

    data

http://www.voltronforce.com/ should have everything you need! Pretty cool site. You could be right about the dinosaurs though. Their hands and feet have all sorts of faces. :)

    Edit:
Actually... There was a Lion VOltron, so that must have been it. HAve a look at this page. Very "Battle of the Planets" looking characters.

Yeah, it was Voltron alright. A friend of mine also had that toy growing up.

I've never forgiven the "Power Rangers" for their cheap, badly made imitation of Voltron!

    I loved Voltron.
The characters are very BotP esque.

I remember having a big rant when Power Rangers came out about it being a direct rip-off of my beloved Voltron. Nobody remembered Voltron though so I just got weird looks and accused of dreaming about the cartoon and that it never existed. Spas.

Same here. When I first saw "Power Rangers" on the television years ago I thought to myself, "Christ, it's a sh!te, life action rip-off of Voltron!" When I mentioned this to my younger brother and his friends (who were into the "Power Rangers" for a short time) and other people they just looked at me strangely and said, "What's Voltron?"

"Voltron! You know, cartoon about these guys in these mechanical lions that would join up to become Voltron? Had a great big sword? Used to be on The Children's Channel? Oh come on, don't tell me you don't remember Voltron?"

    "What's The Children's Channel?"

    "AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!"

Hearing them ask "What's The Children's Channel" made me suddenly feel very old. Kids these days with their Fox Kids, Nickelodian, Nick Jr., Cartoon Network, etc., etc. They've got too much bloody choice, I tells ya. Too many channels meaning the quality of the cartoons is sh!te. I mean, what the hell is "Dexter's Lab", "The Powerpuff Girls" and "Spongebob Squarepants" all about. Rubbish I tells ya! Pure sh!te! Bring back the likes of M.A.S.K., Teenage Mutant Ninja/Hero Turtles*, Transformers*, He-Man*, Bravestarr I tells ya! Better than any of this modern day sh!te!

shuffles off for a mug of Complain before going to bed :D

*yes, I know these have been remade recently but they're not the same as the originals

    Spongebob is actually good.
I also like Justice League and Samurai Jack. The rest are fairly crap though.
Oh Batman of the Future is ok too.

Samurai Jack is an amazing cartoon. Its aimed at the 16-25 year old demographic me thinks.
That being said though, the old cartoons were much better than the cartoons around these days for 10 year olds. Transformers, M.A.S.K, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors are still great to watch, much more interesting than those Japanese cartoons with 10 seconds devoted to each frame of animation. Fox Kids show M.A.S.K, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors and Ulysees at around 11 o'clock at night as far as i know.

There was another Voltron aswell, except he was bigger, and made up of cars/trucks/tanks/helicopters et al.
    That was pretty boss!

And I've got him up on my shelf, though he's a little age-worn now, and dusty.
    Man, he ****ing ruled!!! :D
