I don't see why this should even be an issue? I've no problem admitting any film I like to anyone. If they think it's 'uncool' or 'lame-ass' or whatever then it's really their problem not mine.

a lot of my friends seem to think starship troopers is ****e... the muppets seem to be taking it as a serious piece of filmmaking:rolleyes:
one of my top 10 films tbh

Titanic, but its still not one of my favourite films, but I do like it.

And NoelRock, I though Rush Hour 2 was very good..

Meet Joe Black....I know its crap but I cried like a girl (Im not a girl honest)
The other plus is watching Brad Pitt get splatted in slo-mo on DVD :D

Im not at all ashamed to admit I liked DareDevil too, much better than I had anticipated with Ben 'the Plank' affleck in it.

HeartBreakers- with Jen Love Heweitt. I was funny.....at times.

Biceintenal(sp) Man- with Robin Williams, i loved this film for some reason?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,608 ✭✭✭✭sceptre

I liked Meet Joe Black quite a bit actually. (I suppose I could say "not as good as the original" but I haven't seen the original so I'll say nowt). Ditto Bill and ted (the good one, not the crap one), Frankie & Johnny and the Little mermaid. Bicentennial Man too.

I draw the line at BB2000 though. I only have it on DVD because it came free with the original when I got it cheap from Play (both for 8 quid). It's not bad, it's just not very good.

the butterfly affect- i think it is the best movie i seen this year (X 3 times) , but since most people hate it, i dont recommend it to me mates, the bit wher he drops the " i will come back for you" sign
    onto her coffin
    was so sad

i also loved john carpenters vampires, i think everyone hates that, fav bit was when the 4 master vimpires dig themselves out of the ground and start walking with the dirt falling off them

I own about 80 DVD's and most of them are classics, critically acclaimed and oscar winners but sticking out right in the middle is 10 Things I Hate About You. I have no idea why I like it I just do I can't explain it.

If i were to be ashamed of admiting to liking a movie (i'm with ferdi on this one) is would probably be Freddy Got Fingered.
Also Fletch Lives is probably my favourite movie ever.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 547 ✭✭✭Devious

The Last Action Hero. I just love the whole tone of that film.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,287 ✭✭✭joe_chicken

Ah, Fletch Lives was a classic, nothing to be embarrassed about there. "You've got a serious case of articulares maramaquoma."

I have to confess to being a secret fan of soppy comedies, like Bill Murray's "Scrooged" and John Candy's "Uncle Buck".

That would be Hannibal Brooks . Saw it on telly when I was about ten and it seemed like the perfect film then - it had Oliver Reed, Nazis and an elephant. Watching it more recently I realised that it's pretty badly put together, but then it was directed by Michael Winner. I'd still watch it again, cringing slightly.
