oh man! what a complete BS!

that movie sucks! and i mean SUCKS!

you can obliously see that it was filmed in a warehouse!

    no character development, nothing!

    acting is obvious! and talentless

    soundtrack sucks!

    movie just plain sucks!

not even a little close to what the first one was!

it looked like a startrek gone very very bad!

bottom line: the film was made by some jokers with a home camcorder! and no talent!

    don't waste your money!

    Lol, I should hope so.

As CyberGhost said, it turns out that it was filmed by some bunch of complete n00bies on a shoestring budget. Apparently they just reused scenes from the first movie for special effects and had plastic props (spider legs and the like) which they brought into shto from time to time.

I'd probably watch it for the comedy value.

It kinda reminds of Unreal Tournament, soldiers running around, in some kind of warehouse(the scenes at some points really look like UT's stages) shooting things!

Just watched it. Pretty bad, but not terrible. However, its not a patch on the original. Special effects were actually above average (it was pretty gory), but it really did look like it was shot in a warehouse, and the script/acting was terrible.

Worth checking out for novelty value, but don't buy it - rent or download. :)

Just saw an ad for the DVD of Starship Troopers 2 being in shops (or in shops soon), on the SCI-FI channel (Sky channel 130), and I was like; "WOW! They got funds for a second one!".

After seen the first one (and buying it after renting it 4 or so times), I'm not sure if it made it into the big screen over here.

Anyhowz; has anybody seen it? Is it any good? Its meant to be out on June 1, 2004, but I'm wondering has anyone seen a "pre-view" yet?

    It has been discussed here

I'd say it was made on a shoe string

How could you think it was good after the first one was so bad?? Oh I get it! the first one is tongue-in-cheek...by a german director, one of the worst films I have ever seen, only nerds like it, it still makes me angry.

    ^ bit harsh there

Its a feckin brillant film the first one and i cant really come up with any arguement to say so. I myself am usually very picky with films but the first one wasnt even that cheesy, it was just bril!

    have to agree with RasTa

    the first one was AWESOME!

Have to say I really liked the first one. It's supposed to be cheesey. It was made post Gulf War I to show up the overly confident gung-ho attitude so prevalent in Americans & their press. It was a satirical piss-take with a lot of WWII stuff thrown in for good measure.

Would you like to know more?

First one was great in the same way old Jackie Chan films are great :)

I loved the first one, i have it on DVD. 10/10 for entertainment ... and you don't even have to have your brain with you to watch it.
I think i might rent out number 2 tonight and kill some time and laugh my arse off.

I enjoyed the first one. Yeah its cheesy and I get the point they were trying to make. Special effects were awesome, especially the ships in space. Pity about the second one, was looking forward to that. Has anyone else read the book? The 1st film is nothing like the book. Which is a shame.

I kinda guessed it sucked when they never gave it a cinema release.

yep total tripe , but i suppose it was obvious since none of the original cast signed up for it , except for one , she was the captain of the ship denise richards was on , and she turns up in the second one , i think she is the one who injects herself , but i'm not too sure , maybe i'll get a name soon :o

    what a frickin dissapointment,

It wouldn;t have been to bad as a TV movie if they didn;t try the starship troopers tie-in,

I was so looking forward to seeing the second movie after they caught teh brainbug at the end of the last flick , but what we got was the warehouse trash version,

it never expanded on any of the overall story and the ending was the worst , ripped off to put it mildly ,

Does anyone know if there will be a proper blockbuster starship troopers 3 ???
