I'd like to apologise for being the one to push them assholes over the edge, I had a poll running asking people how they liked the courtesy (or lack there of) and the next day they took the boards down because they were getting too much abuse. Its what you shouls expect if you're a condescending ego-maniac in a dead-end job and a go-nowhere metal band really... Maybe another poll would help!

I have to say. I go into the Hightech dept and the drum dept all the time. I have heard loads of bad things about the staff in Music Maker of the last couple of years. The thing is I have Always been treated with respect in there. The staff have always been far beyond helpful to me. It has nothing to do with the amount of money I spend there, which isn't a whole lot. And when I buy something it's only maybe once a year and never anything big (already have my kit).
I have been to loads of different music shops in different parts of the world and I've only ever had one person be a prick to me, in a "I know so much more than you" kind of way. I'll not name the shop but it is in this country and the guy still works there.
    Anyway that's my two cent
    Adrian

Have to agree with drummer boy, i find MM to be cheaper than anywhere else for the gear i use so i can't complain...

Also, on the musicmaker boards there was some unnecessarily personal and immature stuff being said about the guys there...i'm not too well up on the conflict itself but i thought the argument could have been a bit more civil, maybe then any intelligient complaints could have been listened to and taken on board.

The boards are free and pretty useful but became cluttered up with politics and crap that should have been discussed elsewhere.

Always found musicmaker staff to be helpful and couteous. My preferred shop in Dulin tbh.

Although when I bought a bass amp last week I asked the new guy how much he'd do the amp and a cab for and he quoted more than the two separately. After heated negotiations the best he could do them for was €1 more than buying the two separately.

    Honestly :)

On a totally different note. When I was in america I was in Guitar Center. Sorta the Tesco of music shops in america. The sales men there are so nice. Salesman in america are the best and will do all they can to sell you the item. They are extremely helpful. Great prices too :)

Was in the guitar superstore in Queens.
Hell of place ! All the amps laid out plugged in and with leads, you could take ANY guitar off the wall and start playing and no one gave a ****, im talking you could walk in pick up a custom Les Paul plug it into a giant Marshall and play away to your hearts content. Thats the way it should be.

Was in Music Maker last week, and the lads were sound.. in the past.. they pissed me off.. but it was only once.

There just isn't a demand here is Ireland great enough to warant a music superstore. I know they have them england. Guitar Center is sorta the Wal Mart of the music world. I know in there area where my friend live in america 2 small guitar shops had to shut down in the last year since they opened the Guitar center. They can't compete with the prices and price plans they offer.

A super music store in ireland would mean better prices but the suits wouldn't see a massive return on there money so they'll never bother :(

    Oh well..

Never had a problem in Musicmaker...bought everything from guitars to er...amps, and always quick and painless.

There's one guy in music maker who's always really sound and all I ever do there is buy strings if anything, he's one of the younger staff members anyway. I'm not too impressed with the other sales staff in the guitar dept, they can appear really condensending most of the time.

But the guys upstairs in the hi tec department gave us a a great deal on a PA after they sold the PA we told them we wanted to buy (they didn't have to do anything for us because we didn't leave a deposit). Fair play to them.
