Sticky Idea -

Since everyone that comes on here seems to have horror stories about some
car dealership or garage or whatnot, was just wondering if there might be a place
for a sticky where someone has a good or (more than likely!!) bad story to tell us
about a garage/dealership/local mechanic who they have dealt with in their area..

If a sticky could be put in place listing a garage/dealership/local mechanic and maybe
a rating out of 10 and their reasons behind it..

Its hard enough to go looking for a used car and not get ripped off by some 2 bit
salesman so im sure those less experienced would appreciate some advice on whos
good and whos not so good when buying/servicing/trading in a new car.

whilst in favour of this, it could open the forum to legal issues!
Just because 1 person has a horror story does not mean the dealer or whatever is dodgy.

This is true..

Im not suggesting this with anything malicious in mind, just that if you have a good
or bad experience you are going to tell someone about it.. so why not tell them on
here.. (within reason of course!!)

I'd be behind this idea. Seems it's ok on other forums to give out about specific shops or online stores so i don't see any difference with garages.

I agree that one bad experience doesn't give right to judge particular garage etc However, bit of feedback didn't kill anybody and at least we can have current price guide for standard procedures e.g.

timing belt replacement
head gasket replacement
parts cost

from different garages as looks like price difference between some of them are very different indeed.
