Unless nVidia do some serious driver optimisations in the next few months or the 6800 has got some serious next-gen aces up it's sleeve for newer games, ATI is going to pummel it.

Christ!! **** on a stick:eek:, that 880XT was only stuck in to take the thunder away from the 6800Ultra......I love competition :D.

Before anyone starts popping the Champagne corks, this isn't an actual benchmark. This person doesn't even have the hardware! What they've done is multiplied out the number of transistors on the GPU, the shader performance, etc., and applied it to previous generation ATi technology.

This is all complete speculation on the part of some ATi fanb0i.

Is this going to have the mental power requirements of the 6800? (Apologies if that's mentioned in the link above, its blocked from here)

As far as i can read all he does is that he multiply the fact that the ATI will run at higher Mhz and the assumes that this all adds up to extra fps.
Last i heard was that the 16 pipelines did come as a shock for ATI and that they would be happy to reach benchmarks any where near the 6800 ultra at least with the 420 pro, but maybe the 420XT will be as fast or faster, who knows, wait and see!

The latest images released by ATi show only one Molex connector on the card. So, no, probably not.

Yeah these results are extrapolated from R360 technology so take them with pinch of salt. The official announcement should be on the 4th or 5th of May at Microsofts WinHEC conference.

    /me can't read German

/me feels a bit sheepish for jumping to conclusions

I thought Germans were supposed to be cool and calculating, clinical and efficient??

"extrapolating" based on Clock speeds is the greatest load of toss I've heard yet.
