    hi,
    Last week i needed a new 8W flourescent lamp for my kitchen insect killer so i went into O'Reilly electrical to get one.

    wait for it.....

    E62.57 + vat

    i laughed and walked out.

    Got em in peats (of all places!) for E8.52 all in as they sell them as replacements for their PCB exposure units.

    And yes its even the same manufacturer.

    Thats' incredible! THere's no way that O'Reilly can't get the product wholesale at the same price as Peats. I'm even more amazed about Peats though, considering I found them more expensive on every product in a random sample I took.

    that is really funny because all you often hear about Peats is what rip-off merchants they are .

    normally i'd agree 100% that peats are a joke when it comes to price.what made me go there was that i purchased 2 x 15W uv lamps from them a few years ago to make my own pcb exposure unit and i got em for under IR£20 at the time.

    O'Reilly are a joke on price though. i remember going in to buy 3 phase mcbs and being qouted almost e80 +vat each! same for contactors etc etc. i get 3 phase mcbs from a small shop in wicklow for e22 all in! even adding a train fare its 1/4 the price!!!

    people in this country really need to wake up.
