Well, there's a new Nightwish album on the way! :D

    It's entitled "Once."
    Here's the artwork for it:

Check out www.nightwish.com for more details.

They've also uploaded 3 sample mp3s from the new album, including the new single, Nemo.

Here's the artwork for the "Nemo" single:

Personally, I'm very much looking farward to the new album. Apparently Nightwish have been recording with the London Symphony Orchestra, who had also worked on the Lord Of The Rings soundtrack, so it could be nothing less than breath-taking to listen to. The sample of Nemo sounds good, but it's only the first minute of the song, so I've no idea how the song will unfold, and progress... Though it has really whetted my appetite. Planet Hell sounds nothing short of staggering, with some very interesting orchestrations altogether, and Marco's singing on it also... Again, it's only a tease as to what the potential of the full song could be, but it looks to be a fantastic one!

They've also signed with Nuclear Blast now, so there wont be as much trouble trying to get hold of their albums now, which is certainly a good thing.

Hopefully they'll be playing in England again when touring for the Once album. I was very happy to have been there for their first ever UK show, and I'd gladly hop over the pond again to see them live. As well would a few other people here, I'd suspect. Am I right? :D

    Thanks for the PM Ken.

I've downloaded full versions of Nemo and White Night Fantasy, and it all sounds pretty ****ing good. Much much more atmospheric than any of their previous material. And she's still HOT! Bonus!

They have mentioned that they will come back to the UK, don't know about Ireland though. That will probably depend on record sales.

    Emppu ****ing Rules!! ;)

    Indeed he does.
I've been trying to play some of his stuff, and some of it I've had sucsess with, some I've not. Trying to learn Slaying The Dreamer currently, which is simple enough, but great song none-the-less. But just playing his stuff is quite different to what I'd regularly be playing, as he's quite a unique guitarist in his style, especially considering the genre.

Have a go at Sacrament Of Wilderness. It has some very unique Hammer-on/Pull-off tehniques in it. I had to watch the DVD a couple of times to see how to do it properly. I've managed to master the whole song now. Woohoo!

Indeed, I see what you mean! Had to have a spins of the song there, and stuck on the DVD to fully get what you're on about, but definetly some lovely technique. Not all too dissimilar to my own, expect I'd almost 'flick' my finger off the edge of the fretboard on the high E-String. Seems to work very well for me, and I'll certainly try it out on Sacrament Of Wilderness tomorrow, when everyone isn't dozing off.

I've had the tabs for the song sitting on the computer for some time now, but I generally prefer to work out songs for myself, and I find my own interpretations are far more accurate than a lot of the rubbish floating about on the net. I've also got some of the crimson tide/deep blue sea instrumental worked out, not quite there yet, but it's sounding good so far. Ever had a crack at that yourself?

Yeah. I had to learn Crimson Tide/Deep Blue Sea right after I heard it. It was so cool.

I've actually submitted my own tab of it to http://www.mysongbook.com
