Any good tattoo suggestions?

Was just wondering did anybody have any good ideas for tattoo's. Was thinking of maybe getting one during the summer. Not a huge one!:dunno:

i wasted the best tattoo location of my body (back of the neck, just below the t-shirt line) on a ****ty chinese character that possibly means "good luck":(

I wasnt being smart. Everyone has those brutal chinese tattoos that 'supposedly' mean things. Get a good original idea, and put it somewhere so that it looks ok. Your fave cartoon character, for example.

begbie - i agree with Eth0, go look at bme, or you could buy a bunch of tattoo magazines and have a look at them, and modify them so theyre not someone elses ink.
or rope in a friend that can draw.


i have some chinese script done, funny thing is, i know what it says because a) i got it in Beijing and 2) i can read mandarrin script. yay!

hmmmmm, i had been considering that...
i'm assuming that it'd have to be a solid fill over the area of the original tat... which kind of restricts my choices.
the original is roughly an inch & i wouldn't want a tattoo bigger than 3" X 3" in that spot. can't really think of anything that could cover it up:(

i might take a pic of it at the weekend and start a new thread looking for cover up suggestions (sorry about hiijacking this thread:p )

Looking at the tattoos on www.bmezine.com, I wouldn't want any of those things adorning my body. Is there any nice ones there?

One of the worst examples of overdoing it I think is Shane Lynch. Saw him on "the games" and it looked like he fell asleep drunk amongst a group of friends with permanent markers!

I don't think there is anything really wrong with chinese symbols if they mean something to you, it is true however that too many people just walk in and point at one and trust that it perhaps means what they think it is. Then again, i am biased, i have japanese kanji running up one of my arms

All you can do is to think about what you want, then toy with the idea for a further week or so and if you've had no 2nd thought, go for it!

just get paper and start doodling and see what you come up with... then if you like it go to someone who knows what they're doing and get them to make it better then get yourself scarred!

suns are generally good coverups because any little sticky outy bits of the one you have could be concealed under sun tentacle beam thingys...

I would leave it a lot longer then that. What I have done in the past is decided on my tattoo left it for a few months and gone back to it then and see if i feel the same way about it now.

I also don't have them in highly visible places so they are quite private to me which i like, apart from at the moment with this heat where you can see one of them

aye, that's what i've been thinking of doing.
an eye of Horus/Ra could be altered to make a nice coverup...
i won't have the cash to spare for ages, so i've got plenty time to decide on a design

get one under ur arm pit comeing across to ur ass down to ur leg ............what a tat make the whole tat look like a battle haveing different squences of the battle as you go along it...............just an idea but id sy it would look class if you have the balls and a deep pocket to get it done
