I came home today to find a wierd window open on my desktop. I havent done anything with it yet but it looks like some sort of malicious software. Thing is the last thing i did on the laptop was install new antivirus software (PC'Cillin) and do a complete scan which found and cleaned one virus. Just wanted to see if anyone had any advice/help they could offer. Cheers

Oh and here is a picture of the window:

    Yep looks dogdy enough :)

Easy Answer go to my fav site ;)

    http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/

DL stinger, nice easy to use program that scans your comp for Virus's etc if it finds any note the names and download the indivdual the removal tools for them aswell.

Try getting Adaware aswell for spyware etc

    http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

    another freeby tool.

Then buy some proper AV software and keep it up todate, im not a fan of PC'Cillin.

If that doesnt work let me know.

Care to expand on why ? - I've been using it for a number of years now - and haven't been hit. That being said I also use Spybot, A2, and adaware and others . It's not a pop at you, just that if there are valid reasons not to use PC-Cillin, I'd like to know. Better to be ready than to be caught imo
