Hi everybody, newbie to this site so far found it very informative , however I have a couple of questions.

    1. Are sky boxes and cards married together. (if the answer is no)
    2. With relations all over the UK would an English card go straight into an Irish box and would I receive all English FTA and FTV channels.
    3. What would the members recomend an English subscription or an Irish sub.
    4. Do English subs receive RTE.

Look forward to your replies and hope to be of some help in future.

    Thanks from a brand newbie!!!!!!

    Welcome along.

    1) Yes the cards are married to the boxes.
    2) Yes a UK card will go into an Irish box and you would get most channels but not certain subscription ones. Does not work the other way though. The Irish channels will not work unless the card is married to the box.
    3) If you are on good terms with your relations and they want RTÉ then swap the boxes and cards.
    4) No.
