According to F1Racing.net EJ is meeting with Trust and Verstappen today in Holland. It seems that Pantano may not even race in Monza, as he is not performing to expectations. Bad luck for him seeing as the car isn't performing at all.
Still, I can't see Verstappen working any miracles at Jordan, no more than he ever did at Minardi and no more than Heidfeld is doing now.
    Any opinions??

Was just coming here to post this. So much for EJ's pledge to go back to his roots of developing younger drivers or some other such nonsense. I love Jos, but he's past his best. He'll be useless by next season, leaving Jordan recruiting another rookie. At least if Pantano had a year of experience he may be of use towards the end of this season/early next season. Are we gonna see Jordan turning into Jaguar now? :(

with all due respect, jordan in its current state is going nowhere.

Pantano is wildly off the pace. He hasn't done it at all, in any session. I think in F1 you can see who's up to it pretty quickly. Raikonnen was fast straight away relative to his experienced team mate, same goes for Montoya, Alonso, Massa, Bruni, Wilson & Webber. I can't think of any driver who started out badly and caught up and eventually kicked ass. Da Matta hasn't really got to grips with F1, doesn't look like he ever will, same for Firman sadly, and it looks like Pantano's out of his depth too. At least Jos is a bit of craic and he'll get the car on the telly, one way or the other.

    Jos+Jordan 2004 = Hill+Jordan 1999

    Just a thought...

I don't see Jordan gaining anything with Jos. Pantano's slow but he's not costing them money, like Sato did two years ago. Jos has been out of consistent F1 racing for too long and he's too old to have the spark and desire to really push with a poor engine.

    ?

He was racing last year and doing a pretty good job in a shyt car. He'd be a good deal faster than Pantano. Jordan need to pick up points when other cars drop out, cos they're not fast enough to get points on speed alone. They need to be hovering around the top ten to capitalise on others misfortune. Heidfeld looks like he can do it, but Pantano's not going to pick up points when he can't get away from the Minardis.

I say bring Jos back. He can do a good job, if not quite a great job.

More news on the Jordan front.
Verstappen might test the Jordan next week, if he does it will be more than likely that he'll race in Barcelona.

An experienced driver would still be preferable to an uninspiring and lame rookie.
I liked Joss, he wasn't perfect but he done his thang quite well, even with the crap cars he had. No doubt he's still not perfect, but he'd do his thang well in the crap car Eddie Jordan has.

Then you'd have a duo of age and experience, Heidfeld and Joss, at least getting some steady telemetry for the team and at least more qualified at bringing the car home which to Jordan, with their Ford Shíteworth engine, is about as close they can get to actual qualification. So use it, just to learn, to get an idea as to how they can improve their aerodynamics.

Pantano had a relatively decent race on Sunday, til the car died. He might improve, given the chance.
