Anybody else find it near impossible to do? I had some spare cash on me the other day, and decided to buy red contacts, and every time I tried to put them in, my eye would close itself around the same time the contact touched my eyelash/eye ect. Sometimes when it wasnt even near it.

Anyone got any tips on putting them in?

[if you are left handed reverse] put contact on your right index finger, close your left hand into a fist except your index finger, hold the middle of your eyelid up, dont hold onto the hair, with then middle finger of your right hand hold the bottom of your eye down and use your index finger to kinda poke yourself in the eye and let go, if it doesnt work repeat, try moistening the contacts to help. (oh and when you're putting it in try and look up at the sky, then when it's in slowly look down and blink a few times. Once it's in it's in, don't have to worry)

I hope you've been to see an optician and have been approved for contacts. Not everyone can wear them. You can get an eye infection and lose your sight from misuse of contacts.

It's something you get used to Tellox. Eventually you will surpress the reflex to close your eye when your hand is near it. Sometimes though, my eye will still blink if it's particularly sensitive at the time, such as in the morning or in cold weather.

I'd do it pretty much the way Poozle says except I have the contact on my middle finger, and push my lower lid down with my ring finger. I also have to lift the upper lid extra high because I have stupidly long eyelashes.

Everyone finds the way that suits them. Some people can't do anything without a mirror.

As neev says, I wouldn't just go jamming things into your eyes without advice. At the very least, you'll need a saline solution to clean them, and somewhere sterile to store them. Never ever clean them with just water before putting them in your eye.

You definitely get used to it. I used to take about 5 minutes per eye just putting them in, sometimes I'd just give up and wear my glasses. Now it takes me a few seconds.

I tend to use a mirror still though. My coordination isn't great sometimes so I'd probably just land them on my eyelashes otherwise.
