From what little of the sport I have seen, Aussie Rules players have great upper arms - good definition, good size but not too much bulk - I would love arms (shoulders?) like that - how do they do it - what routines are they using? what exercises are they doing? ... anybody know?

Just basic stuff. Lads in aussie rules are quite lean from all the running and most are around the 13-14st mark. Tan helps also.

Good question - I find that no matter what combination of weights and exercises I do I cant seem to get a good definition on my biceps.

Anyone got any tips for a good definition?

Heavy weights vs low reps with light weight?

The sleeveless jerseys that are used in Aussie Rules may have something to do with this impression :) Not saying that Aussie rules players don't have great upper arms -it's just that their arms are on display unlike GAA, soccer and rugby players' arms :)

On a related note I was looking at some gymnastics on eurosport recently, and the guys had fantastic arms IMO with great size and definition in triceps, biceps and delts. This was even more noticable as overall they weren't very bulky guys so their arms seemed to be way out of proportion with the rest of them.

I think that's pretty usual for a gymnast. If you think about male gymnastics it heavily involves the arms in pretty much every dicipline. (rings, parallel bars, high bar, floorwork)

They are typically not very tall, and very lean, as and extra weight or height is a real drawback in the jumping, flipping and tumbling end of things.

    Thanks for the replies lads,

I ripped the sleeves off my shirt last night and covered myself in my wife's fake tan - look great now ... I didn't even have to go to the gym

    Result !!
