Tickets for Ireland football matches (question).

    I am planning on going to Paris for the Ireland -v- France match in October with about 7 others. I have to book the flights soon otherwise they will be gone (Ryanair and Airlingus are already sold out). If I book the flights is there a big chance that I won't get 8 tickets for the match and be stuck with 8 flights to France?

    Well with the FAI there is always a chance you will be left high and dry! ;)

    Keep an eye on here

    Worst case scenario, you could try buy your tickets outside the ground in Paris.

    It's an important question that I need answered. I'm not paying €2,000 for 8 returns to Paris only to find out the tickets are sold out.

    Aye, I know what you mean Eirebhoy, when I was going to the last qualifier in Basel I didn't get my ticket til I arrived at the airport, I seriously thought I had paid €600 for flights and such for nothing!

    You'll manage to pick some up, hound the FAI, keep an eye on their website.

    I heard a rumour of a block booking system for the away games but I'm not sure.

    As I said before, you could try buy your tickets outside the ground in Paris, I've seen it done! ;)

    I will be looking at the FAI site every day. How does it work though? The first 3,000 applicants get tickets? Is it possible to get 8 tickets or does it have to be 2 seperate applications? I can go ahead and book the flights now, would you recommend me doing so?

    I can't find any but they will probably be very expensive. I am getting a return flight to Paris for €250 per person, 2 nights in a 2* hotel about €20 a night so thats €290 plus the ticket which should cost a total of about €330 per person. A travel agent will charge about 600.

    Abbey travel have a 2 night package at €539 including flights tickets and accomodation

    747 Travel are charging €499 for 2 nights. I couldn't get through to Abbey travel but I think I'll go with 747.
