Move from Vodafone- What do I lose?

Righty. Once again Vodafone have exceeded themselves with their carry on. I got a letter on Thursday (before a 4-day long weekend) reminding me to pay a bill that I hadn't received.

Fair enough, the postal strike is not their problem. So I went away for the long weekend and, on the very next working day (Tuesday) I went into the Post office and paid the bill in full. Later that day I was disconnected (!). I rang them & was reconnected and they informed me that I would be charged twenty-something euro for the privilege.

I have every intention of writing them formal letter saying that I will not accept this charge, however- before I say that I am going to move my account- what do I lose (or indeed) what do I gain by moving my number to 02 or (unlikely) Meteor?

Youll probably save yourself a few quid off your bill. Thats all I can think of.

I dont know what you would gain from switching to meteor.... hassle in my experience.... but o2 is a totally different matter!!!

at the moment (20/04) if you port your number from either meteor/vodafone to o2 and go onto a bill paying tarriff, then you will get the following..

    1) you keep your full 085/087 number... it doesnt change at all...
    2) you get a month's free line rental (applies to all new connections)
    3) you get €50 free call credit (no expiry on this!) (applies to all new connections)
    4) you get up to €60 off the cost of a new handset... this means that you can actually get a number of quality phones for free, depending on what tariff you connect to, but seen as how you have a months free line rental anyway then you might as well use it!!!

also you get up to 200 sms messages (from as little as 7.50)! cheaper mms and shorter peak hours.... 6pm v's 8pm with vodafone.

    any other questions???
