play.com delivery?

Not sure if this is the appropriate board, you can move if necessary.

I ordered a rake of DVD's on the 4th of April which were then sent out on the 5th. It's now the 13th and I still haven't got my Family Guy complete series :dunno: It seems quite a few people are experiencing delays. Does anyone know anything about this or has anyone here ordered DVD's around the same date as me and got/not got them?

I know, but I've just gotten stuff from the US that was posted later than when play.com posted my DVD's!

it doesn't necessarily behave in a "first in, first out" manner y'know .....

Also, most incoming mail from the US these days is handled by GLS, not good old an post.

well my first ( and last ) play.com order from march 26th still hasnt arrived. Guy sitting beside me ordered off cdwow at the same time and got his stuff so who knows ?

My last order from play.com arrived in just over a week. ATM I'm waiting on a CD from cdwow and had a DVD ordered a week or two later. The DVD arrived friday, still no sign of the CD so it's hardly the company at fault. It's An Post. I'm also left waiting on some stuff I bought off a poster here on the FS board but there's no sign of that either thanks to our friends at An Post... BAXTARDS!

i ordered a simpsons boxset (non promotional)

on the 23/03 i received a package from play.com today fair enough with postal strike and all

but

to my dismay when i saw the package i knew i didn't get the simpsons and i got a disney boxset with toy story 1 + 2 a bugs life and monsters inc.

i rang yesterday asking where my simpsons were and they said it probably got lost in the post and will resend it.

i know nothing of this disney box set cough cough

over the years i have bought a shed load from play and cdwow. cd wow are faster IMHO, but i have noticed sometimes play go thru moods wehn you get it the same week or somethimes weeks later. i would hold on another week and then call them. i like Mercury above had no probs dealing with them and they never questioned anything.

O ordered off CDWOW last Sunday week, and the cd was delivered on holy thursday.

Bah! I have a load of stuff in the post. A couple of DVDs from play.com, contact lenses from getlenses.com, and a DVD player. The first player never arrived so Amazon have sent another - the **** at An Post just left the parcel on the doorstep where anyone could have stolen it. If that's the sort of attitude they have, I have no sympathy over this postal dispute or the staff suspension (technically, calling it a strike is wrong...).

Was passing by my house the other day and found some of the neighbours' post left in the grass outside their house soaked through from the rain. ****ers, and it would have been so easy just to stick it in the letter box (like I did).

Any post I've asked to be delivered to my house in the past 2 months or so has never arrived. Stuff I get sent to work arrives fine.

I'm in the same boat. Waiting on 3 DVDs from Play despite receiving stuff from the States and Hong Kong that was posted around the same time (a few days before the strike). If they're not here by Friday I'm going to ask for new ones to be sent out.

I usually get my stuff from play.com in 3 or 4 days, but the postal strike has been a bleedin' annoyance altogether.

I ordered a ****load of stuff a couple of weeks back now at this stage. Spirited Away arrived fine in about 3 days, but I only got The Seventh Seal today, which was sent out the same time... two frickerin' weeks later!?

A bunch of CDs made it through last week though.
All from play.com mind you.

I'm shocked. I ordered Kill Bill R3 (so uncut) from CD-WOW (so shipped from Hong Kong). It was shipped last thursday and arrived yesterday.

Finally got Spirited Away this morning, now I'm waiting on The Stand and Family Guy series two, both of which were sent out the day after Spirited away, close to three weeks ago.

I still don't understand why something that was been supposedly shipped from Jersey takes longer to delivery than something from Hong Kong.

Isnt it the case that anything posted currently gets through like normal post.

but anything that got caught in the postal strike is in the backlog and they are filtering this post as overtime and thus is taking time.
