Had read last week some guy was literally gambling everything he owned on a single spin of a roulette wheel in Vegas. He got lucky. I read about it and thought, "please don't lose you English freak. I know you're a nutcase but I'm rootin' for ya - ya big lug!"

Apparantly it will all be on a C4 documentary.

Now that takes some serious gumption to do.

ahh man... theres no justice in the world when a moron like that can actually gain out of doing something as stupid as that.

He should have lost and lost badly.. then possibly have been mugged as he left the casino, only to live out his days sleeping on the cold streets of Las Vegas eating peoples discarded socks.

Wasn't this on Sky one last night, named 'Double or nothing'?

Ah yes, think it was Sky alright, my mistake.

I was in vegas once and spent a whole night at the roulette wheel, was great fun but I went out with a few bob I could afford to lose.

I like what he did. He gave up all his belongings and was prepared to go with what ever was going to happen.
Anybody else with a decent family should be prepared to do the same thing. He turned up in a rented suit due to the fact that he had sold all his clothes. That's what people need nowadays.

The thing that I didn't like is the fact that he celebrated so much afterwards.

Now, I'm not some sort of Jesus-freak: "give up your earthly possessions" kind, (I'm atheist) but I just think that people shouldn't cling on to what makes them "happy".

    My 2c.

    Meh no big deal..

He sold all his possesions for 80,000 when they were probably worth nearly double to him in value.. He bet it on a roulette wheel and came out with 135,000..

He didn't actually come out much better did he now...

He has some balls for doing it
I allmost had a heart attack when i bet 500 quid. So i'd hate to see what i'd be like laying 80g's down without anything to back me up if i lost.
    Fair play to him !

am i the only one who thinks it might well have been fixed. seems a bit dodgy the fact that it was changed from being live to prerecorded at the last minute, and also switched casino's. maybe im just too suspicious.

also, i dont think they ever said whether or not he was being paid for doing the show. its not occured to anyone that he might be getting paid exactly what he stood to lose from sky for doing the show? thus negating any risk

the best part was when he got 20,000 from some internet betting place to change his name to their name for the bet. did that go through? i didnt hear mention of it on sunday nights show

What's the story in that casino? A single bet on "even or odd", "1-18 or 19-36" or "black or red" (this one was his case as he bet 80,000 £ on "red") should be paid even, therefore he should have cashed 160,000 £ .....mmm, it looks like 25,000 £ have gone missing as he only got out of there with 135,000 £.

Still, the guy got guts to got for this bet, fair play to him..... I wouldn't do it.
