    Me too..
I use Winamp5 to play mp3s out my optical output, i thought that my MD would cut the tracks automatically, but it doesn't.

I remember reading somewhere (probably the manual..) that 3 seconds of silence makes the MD record to a new track so I suppose making a 3 second long, silent track would do the trick if you lash it in between each song on the playlist. But this will start to piss you off if you're recording in LP2 or whatnot.

It would be sweet if there was a plugin for this.

You can get a plugin to put a puase between the tracks.
    this should do it

but pauses suck ass. less than ideal. Anyone know if its possible to send a new track signal through the spdif on a computer?

Thanks thats great. I'll check it out. On my HiFi if I use the optical out the MD picks up the gaps fine. But if I use the optical out on my sound card the MD doesn't pick up the gaps. So I assume its the player is the problem.

It really is the bollocks for all sorts of stuff.

There is an option for gaps in iTunes but only when burning an audio CD.

    Tinky

On my PC the option for burning CD's isn't enabled.

i highly recommend "pause between songs". I used this combined with winamp's feature to remove silence from the beginning and end of tracks, so that i had a consistant 4 second gap between each song. Great tool!

i think musicmatch jukebox does this.
i got it bundled with my usb to optical kit for MD and theres an option in it that tells the md theres a new track.
