    All

A bit of a daft question I suppose but I finish work at 6pm, I have training at 7,30, what would you suggest to eat that will not kill me in training, something to give me a good kick?

    Thanks

Im a big fan of bananas or nutri- grain bars before training. There was a great article in Mens Health this month extolling the virtues of eating both before and after training. Check it out...

I tend to feel faint if I eat sugar before training (too much of an insulin response, I get hypoglycaemic while I'm running). See if it works for you though, if not eat a complex carbohydrate. Don't eat protein as it will upset your stomach. (Eat protein throughout the day though).

Make sure to eat carbohydrates right after training as well as this is the best time to replenish your glycogen stores.

I find that eating something like bananas is great for energy before the session and then a meal or some carbs after the session for recovery.
