    Satellite.

However for multi room viewing, cable.

It very much depends on where you live and what you want.

Depends where you are, what you want, what you want to pay, who the local service providers for cable and satellite are.

In the ideal world, I would go for cable over satellite. However, you will never get cable for free unless you steal it and I'm sure other posters will point out that for a once off investment in equipment I can get a heap of TV and radio for free via satellite.

Depends on your cable provider. Some areas (eg. Cork City) require a set top box to view cable (yep, even the old analogue stuff) so it is pretty useless for multi room viewing (or for using a video).

Digital cable never gives multiroom viewing unless:
    1) you watch the SAME channel
    2) Multiple "decoder/receivers"

Basic analog cable package does, but I've never seen picture quality I'd pay for.

    The poll specifically mentions DIGITAL.

Satellite gives many usefull TV and Radio channels free. Pay TV is an option.

Cable is Pay only. There is no such thing as Free Digital Cable.

I would have to say myself, cable is probably the best. It offers a good selection of uk terrestrials, and is relatively low priced eg. if I want a second digital connection with ntl I pay €11.50, with chorus €15 or with sky a whopper €20!!! I know digital cable may not provide the best quality, but I would be inclined to go towards cable myself. I was hoping to move to digital satellite, but the very fact that bbc 3 and bbc 4 dont have epg listings is a bit of a put off, and the fact the utv/itv1 and channel 4 are not there is a big turn off too.
