    Ok,

friend asked me to see if this is even possible:

Can you take the engine out of a '00 corolla 1.4 vvti, and replace it with a 1.6 vvti avensis engine??

As far as I know the head is the same size...

    Has anyone any experience??

    Thainks,
    King

You may have to tune your ECU as engine management will run slightly different. Injectors may have to swapped too

not familiar with what is inside the engine bay of these but:-
    - engine mounts may be different (as mentioned)
    - better off getting a ECU for the 1.6 instead of playing around with the 1.4 ECU
    - check that brakes & suspension are compatible for 1.6
    - check if the gearbox is the same

Remember there alot more to an engine swap than the engine - all those ancillories, wiring loom, etc.
