    Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for sites to download movies from. I don't mind paying.

Also rocommend sites that dont make you use their software to watch it or view it, or enter licence number before running in WMP. I'd like to be able to save the movies and watch them when I want in mpeg or whatever.
Also whats the best format for movies? ( I have windows xp)
    I have broadband of course.....

    thanks
    Slothy

probably a question best suited to the 'sci/tech > net/comms > broadband' forum than here. if i remember rightly there's a sticky on all that kind of thing. remember to keep it to legal stuff though or you'll find yourself getting banned pretty quickly.

Its very unlikely youl find one that lets you save them to disc.
Those grainy vids you find around just dont compare to dvds anyway.

You don't mind paying? Just as well because otherwise you'd be going against the board charter and facing Brian Bann.
I think you'll only - in the legal world - be able to get rental sites online like netflix. I also am pretty sure these places are limited to US customers. You would have to use their software also.
The fact is that if you're on broadband, then you're on a cap. A DVD quality version of a movie would be a few gigabytes in size so you're going to race over it very quickly. Until things change, and unless quality does not matter to you, you should stick with the more traditional measures.

give him a break, he will learn where to look but on other hand ,

it's like you pay for every bit of the software that you use.

    A ban's a bit harsh in't?

I mean you'd sware all the movies in the world were being horderd over by copyright-mad hollywood types.

What about atom.com? or newgrounds.com? plenty of free films and animations there.

Downloading films doesn't automaticly make you a pirate, by any stretch of the imagination.
