as a smoker I would like to know which pubs in town are smoker 'friendly'
what I mean by that is, partial covered beer gardens, areas that have covers or areas marked out for us poor junkies who refuse to give up.
    Goddamnit, it's a pain

Non smokers need not reply to that last comment, ta very muchly

    In Dublin?

The Market Bar (off Georges Street) has a good outside smoking area.

D2 Harcourt Street has a brand new beer garden, very nice too, with a massive canapé that covers the entire area.

    Loads of outdoor heaters too.

Agreed, however the market bar is most definitely full of pr1cks. Young disillusioned oiks who do anti-cool very, very badly.

Btw regards to Shelter. If they have more then two sides (eg. Roof + 2 walls) then it counts as a room and you legally can't smoke there.

Bah, they had no shelter there yesterday :/

The Orchard Inn in rathfarnham has quite the impressive outdoor area now.

Could someone build a nightclub with retractable roof and then have "smoking nights"? I'm not a smoker so i'd probably not go anyway those nites, but it sure as hell sounds like a good idea.
