No sound or Picture on PACE

    Need help here.

    I have got a second DigiBox for my house, (Pace). installed my quad port LNB, my orginal Grundig box works fine as before, but the Pace box is not working.

    Problems is

    1/ When connected via SCART lead I get sound but no picture.

    2/ When connected via RF I get picture but no sound.

    I have upgraded the Pace to the latest software.

    Am I missing something here....

    Strange.

    Have you tried the pace box in the same location as the grundig. Disconnect all of the connections from the grundig and reconnect the pace box (using the leads from the Grundig).

    The picture issue may possibly be caused by the digibox outputting RGB to a TV that doesn't support it.

    The sound issue may be caused by the TV being tuned in using a European standard rather than the Irish/UK one. I had the same problem with my new TV on the terrestrial channels. The TV was defaulting to a "B/K" setting - when I changed it to "I" the sound appeared. (The TV is a Sony.)

    I did try replacing the grundig with the PACE, same problem.

    On the RF side I will check the B/K setting as my TV is a Sony .

    If with ALL the leads on the Grundig in place of Grundig the Pace does the same as before it must be faulty.

    Note some SCART leads don't fit some sockets properly and thus you can lose picture or sound.


    Check the Sound and Picture settings in Services | Picture Settings.

    Make sure SCART = ON
    Try RGB = OFF
    and 16:9 (even if TV is 4:3, 16:9 means Digibox leaves picture as is).


    Ensure you press AV on TV *AND* press Sky button.

    I have seen wierd stuff because last command received by Digibox was TV button.

    Note that Digibox SCART on /off does be affected by (and thus potentially TV ) :
    1) SCART setting Enabled
    2) Sky or TV button last pressed
    3) VCR mode of VCR plugged into Sky VCR SCART socket.
    4) RGB or Composite mode setting
    5) If transmission is WS or 4:3 flagged

    The lack of sound on RF is often only in Continental Europe, where Sound can be B/G or D/K mode. Only Ireland, UK, South Africa, Malta and Cyprus, I think use PAL I sound standard. The Digibox by default does PAL I, but I'm sure Sky can change this by SW to other settings (Sky Italia, Sky Mexico etc).
