I have to intoduce a 60 year old to the world of e-mail and the internet.

I want to take them through e-mail so I need a very easy webmail account preferably not hotmail as there is to much spam.

Something that is extremely easy to use.

Any suggestions as to who I should use ?

Eircom.net email is an extremely easy interface to use either over the web or to hook into your PC web client.

Set up the email address in a few simple steps here: http://autoreg.eircom.net/

From then on, access the mail from the web client here: http://webmail.eircom.net/

To hook up your email to your PC client (Outlook/ Outlook Express/ Mozilla Thunderbird etc.) the incoming and outgoing server is mail2.eircom.net

I'd advise against an Eircom email address - you have to be dialled in over any eircom dialup to send an email.

    oxygen.ie - ain't bad

Not true. I can happily send and receive my mail connected to NTL in Belfast.

    Have you tried http://www.abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzabcdefghijk.com

They offer everything you want, and guaranteed no spam :)

Or just use mail.yahoo.com like the rest of the world.

    I'd recommend o2.

    + easy to use interface
+ pop3 and webmail ( You could have it that outlook express automatically gets their email when they open it up)

+it doesn't care what ip you have
+20MB of space (handy even for 60yr olds! They can save all their messages)

Set up anything you want for him and just teach him to use the easiest webmail interface I know at mail2web.com!

Fast loading, no complications, and you can even set it up with his own login ( www.mail2web.com/oldguy ) address so that he only has to enter the account password!
