in fairness pepe, madrab's trophy was MUCH bigger than mhairesa's...

Thanks mhairesa, but you came close to overshadowing us with that 534. Best female on the day and overall not to mention best score on the day. Not bad for a days work eh? I don't think we were the only ones who were chuffed.

Thanks UL for putting on a good Intervarsity, even if it was a little late starting. Also nice one to whoever picked out the trophies, a definite thumbs up!!

Well I gave them some abuse for leaving mhairesa on her own in Galway (albeit good natured) so I think its time to atone. Here goes:
Nice to see the return of all the DCU regulars again, even Conal. In fact, it was good to see all the teams making an appearance this late in the year. Long may it continue :)

It was sad that we didn't make it to Galway but **** it. If I go on my own I'm going to the rest of them, assuming stupid final year doesn't get in my way.

Well done UL on a good shoot. The butts were a bitch and ye started late but in all fairness I'd say most fun at an Inter-Varsity all year, personally.

See ye at Dublin Archers (outdoor) / outdoor competitions.

Hope as many IV Archers as possible make it outdoors this year, even just to say hello!

Also good luck to all those trying to get a bow into the States (make sure you can get it home too). A letter from your club stating you're a member etc on Club/college letterhead might be of help.

results from UL intervarsity are up, well done to everyone on great year.

    www.ucd.ie/archery

Also on the team records, i did it so, teams on equal scores, the best individual score is considered next. Its the way teams on equal score in intervarsities are sorted so only reasonable to do the same for records.

Howd you get the results up when I havnt even emailed them to you yet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 743 ✭✭✭Renegade_Archer

Oh yeah, and congrats to Bolger for getting the title, although I dont think he can really rule with the same atmosphere of sheer terror I brought to the sport :)

Congrats to Maire as well, glad to see shes kept it consistent this season, she did well.

And finally, congrats to DIT for equalling, BUT NOT BEATING the UL intervarsity team record.

If Im in the country for the summer Im sure I will see some of you knocking around the outdoor shoots...

Until next year, same bat-time, same bat-channel....

I will put up the videos some stage this week, the one I did from underneath Keith's target turned out well, I caught more than one of Gary's arrows in flight.

i took one of each of the score cards

oh, and on the team records:

    UL:2525 (530) Emmanuel got 530
    DIT: 2525 (527) Sinead got 527

so UL still have the higher record, at least till Oct/Nov, at which point Maynooth will beat ye all :P

    GRRRRRR!

    ARGHHHH!

    FEAR ME!

    GRRRR!

    well i tried ewan!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 246 ✭✭baggins

I dont know Ewan, i've heard that Bolger was well able to instil fear in even you with his seemingly homosexual advances, so you never know.

    fair play on the shoot.

Well as far as records go, it looks like we still have to beat the UL one. We'll get you next year Ewan, don't worry.
I think we might have managed a record winning margin though and possibly a record average. It was a good year!!

Sorry for leaving you out madrab, congrats on best male and highest score for the year too.

I don't believe you didn't even manage top three after asking what happens of there's a tie for first Ewan. Proof of Murphy's Law if ever there was any! Next year should be very interesting indeed:)

Meh, bad season finished off with an even worse score - dont think I shot that bad since around 1998 or so. Re-served the string in training last night and the groups tightened *just a tad* - still not shooting at last year kinda levels, Im not blaming a nocking point for an entire seasons worth of crap shooting. The drop from 550s to 510s was more being too busy to train. Oh well. The National Indoors and the UL shoot have learned me to bloody well check my gear more often :P

Bolger was by far the better archer this season, he deserved the title. That said he seems to be able to get away with a lot less training than me :)

BTW, was arsing around in training last night taking some test footage for my final year project (automated scoring system for archery) and I managed this:

    (per usual, divx codec required)

So Im not finished yet :)
