Internet Merchant Service Agreement

    Hey would there be anyone out there that has ever obtained one of these? i tried to set one up a while ago but no one at TSB online had ever heard of it. I am currently banking with PremenantTSB and i need ot set one up so i can have credit card transactions put through to my account.

    Do i need a businness account to set one of these up?

    Any answers appreciated,

    The people you need to speak to are the Merchant Services team in your banks Credit Card department. However I don't beleive permanant tsb do Merchant Accounts.

    The big banks such as AIB, BOI, Ulster Bank etc are your better bet. AIB's information is here

    I dont know about PermanentTSB but most banks require the following before they will even consider giving you a merchant account.

    1. Minimum two years current account with outstanding record.
    2. Your Full Business Plan with expected earnings.

    It sounds less complicated than it actually is!

    As I already told you here and sombody else told you here you should be looking at 2CheckOut or some other similar third party payment processor.

    With Bank of Ireland, you must have a business account but there were no requests for business plans or anything like that. You have to give anticipated card volume as well.

    It was straightforward enough but there are very strict in what businesses they give a merchant services account to.

    Or you could get a third party to handle the transactions for you.

    Worldpay springs to mind (although there are more)
