Sky+ and mirror sub postponed

I was due to get upgraded to sky+ and have my existing digibox transferred to a diff room however when the sky installer phoned dis morning he asked did I get the new card in the post!Obviously with the postal strike i didnt so he said that I would hafta postpone the installation until I receive my second card!

Im pissed off but what can u do.

I was under the impression the installer brings the card with the box as a friend of mine sed she did but obviously she didnt if the procedure is for sky to post them out!
As Swift Post isnt on strike do u think sky might post it out using this service or do I just hafta wait til the strike ceases in probably 2020!

Tony do u at satellite.ie when your doin installation bring the card with yous or was it always the procedure for sky to post them out..

How are you coping with them problem?

AFAIK, Sky post the card to subscriber. They certainly did so when I did what you're doing.

Don't mean to split hairs, (and I don't work for An Post) but there is no postal strike, only a refusal to adopt new procedures, and the resultant suspension of hundreds of workers, causing the chaos we are now having to endure.

I rang Sky and ordered my mirror card, before I bought the sky+ box, cannot speak for installers as I did the installation myself.

Tony did this job for me last week, but I had to phone for the mirror sub. I am still waiting for the post to resume. However he was able to install Sky+ since this box uses your existing card. He was also able to set up the old digibox ready to go once the mirror card arrives.

It seems to me that your installer was looking for an excuse to cancel his visit.

Normal procedure is the card goes to the subscriber but sky have now set up a delivery service direct to the retailer for the duration of the dispute.

I arrived home this evening to find the mirror card had arrived by SDS. Did you send it Tony?
