Revised Artificial Nitrogen Levels for Dairy Cows.

    Please note the following caveat in the article

    "This outlines the amount of artificial nitrogen (bag N) that farmers can safely apply and expect a response. It is not to be confused with organic nitrogen that comes out the back of a cow."

    Front of cow not technically the same as back of cow , gottit ?!

    Once you got that bit straight in yer noggin you should read the rest of this fascinating article Here . Some of it is a bit mathematical if you are not in the humour for it.

    "The new Teagasc guidelines suggest that farms stocked at a cow/acre can apply 249 units/acre (311kg/ha x 0.8 = 249 units/acre)."
