Whats with the new Google style. I prefer the old one. The previous one was bland but I liked it. This version is seems even more plain :(

Google now offers a search engine for shopping Froogle

Loads of other features of Google here. Most I never heard of.

It'll just take a bit to get used to it .... I suppose advertisers wanted to have their ads a ickle bit more high profile .....

That froogle has been there for a good while, american only though :(

It's like anything. You'll get used to it after a while but as an advertiser on Google I preferred the old sponsored links now that I look at it.

Though the catalogue is neccessarily incomplete, and it will still pay to shop around, the Froogle thing looks like an worthy attempt to give you some price indications. For instance, there's a CD that I want to buy in the next week or two- Angela Gheorghiu as the eponymous Manon in the Massenet Opera.

Using Froogle here and sorting the prices from low to high, the prices vary from $37 to $79 (for illustration I am ignoring postage etc.).

It's a nice idea, but it's success will really depend on how comprehensive it manages to be in terms of geographical coverage as well as subject coverage. I suppose what it's trying to be is a Super-Amazon bringing together information from all the Amazon and Amazon-clone sites in one.
