For anyone who was hoping to see World of Warcraft in June prepare to be disappointed. WorldofWar.net is reporting that Blizzard has stated the beta process will be at least 5 months long.
Here's the quote:"Definitely not July. As you know, we never set release dates, but you can expect the beta to run for another 5+ months since we have lots of content to test."
    Story here.

I'm sorry to say but as an avid MMORPG player so far I'm dissapointed with WoW even though I've been looking forward to it a lot. As far as MMORPGs go it really doesn't seem to offer anything new or different other than the "warcraft" universe.

They've also gone on the extreme carebear side as far as PvP is concerned. The only unique or good thing about it.. seems to be the quest system, if you're into thatk kind of thing. I'm not....

I think I'll be playing this race.

Anyone want to share with a warlock?

Most players of MMORPG's dont like PvP. PvP in these games tends to turn into griefing very quicky so WOW is being designed to keep most of the people happy most of the time.

Aye, I knew it was an april fools joke when I posted it (Blizzards April 1st jokes are better than most), it was too good not to share :D

The "screenshots" (here and here) are pretty funny.

Most mmorpg devs are too scared to tackle the issues of griefing head on and so they deal with it by putting in a switch or leaving out pvp all together which in the long run is not really for the good of any mmo...

that being said.. i'm still waiting to hear a response as to what WoW OFFERS that is different to countless other fantasy based PvE focussed MMO's ? We already have enough of those games and it seems that other than the licence WoW brings nothing new to the table.
