E4 interactive trick

The upside down card trick to get interactive on E4 is gone since the channel changed to 163.

Is everybodys like this?

What's this and how does it work?
It's the first I'v heard of it!
My sister is always complaning that she can't get interactive for "big brother" and stuff, will this solve the prob?

It will work on Big Brother for sure, cause basically what you're doing is getting the UK's E4 by turning the card upside down, and they must get BB interactive :rolleyes:

.Turn off box from mains.
.Put card upside down, or back to front.
.Turn on box.
.Select channel 163, E4
.Turn card to correct position
.Red Dot should come up, if it doesn't, then just press red and it should say loading.

When I was on it yesterday, there was loads of stuff about BB5 on it. They were doing interactive tests apparently.

What your doing suggests that (possibly temporaily) that the UK/London version of E4 is /was FTA.

There are at least two separate transmissions of E4. Irish Card you get one, UK card or London EPG by "faulty card" trick you get the other.

But the "faulty card" / upside down card "trick" does not allow reception of ANY pay TV, PPV or FTV channels, only FTA channels.

What happens is that when you return the card to the correct way up, the version of E4 is the UK one, momentarily, and you are able to access the interactive features.

Ah.. sorry I missed the last step!

So it is a SW bug that the Digibox "forgets" to switch back EPG version because the channel number is the same?

Makes sense now.

(Though whether watching BB or E4 makes sense at all is a very personal issue!)

I tried this last month, but it never worked. Is it my box only that dosen't work, or am I doing something wrong?:dunno:

This trick dosen't work for E4 interactive on Big Brother, Last year no problem to get the red button on the screen, press red button, its tells you its loading and picture of big brother interactive screen appears. But then in a red box it says the interactive services can not be used in ROI.

Its a bit like the message on the screen when you try interactive services on sky news FTV card.This topic has been discussed before and I have yet to find anyone who has been able to successfully use the interactive service on E4.
