the two people i share a house with want to get a cleaner..i can see how it makes sense as the three of us work diferent hours and the place is always untidy

the only thing is i feel really uncomfortable about the whole thing, not in the sense of having a stranger in the house, but because someone is being paid to clean up my mess,

i'm really self conscious about the whole thing

I know exactly what you mean. A mate of mine's parents have two live-in cleaner/helpers. Whenever I stayed with him and them I would feel so uncomfortable.

But you just have to remember that this is their job, this is what they get paid for. If you want to help - go for it but it's their job to do this stuff not yours.

Good luck, on the first day just try to keep your feet up - it'll be difficult but if you can do it on the first day I'd say you'll be fine for the rest of the time.

If you go to a good agency who pay a proper hourly wage, PRSI and everything is above board, I don't see that you should have anything to feel guilty about.

just go 'bat-cave' with your pornos and they'll never know, unless you employ lousy meddling kids, they foiled my last smuggling run to pirate cove :D

Well in a way it's good that you feel that way.

Personally, I wouldn't be comfortable ever having anyone do something like clean up after me. I could never see it happen unless I was seriously time constrained in a job or whatever. I've never known a tidy up to take more than a hour or so no matter how bad it looked.

It's a bit awkward at first but my solution with our man Jeeves was to just follow him round the house for a week going 'Look there, you missed a spot'.

I know exactly what you mean. My mother has someone come once a week since she went back to working full-time. I always felt like a dick if I was still in the house when she was there...

Son needs Windows XP cd?... You get the picture.

Do you live in a mansion giftgrub?

I can understand why someone in a big house with 4 or 5 kids could do with the help alright but if three people share a semi-detached somewhere (with no kids) then really, you should be able to keep it clean yourselves.
I mean 3 adults, 4 hours free each night, 48 hours at the weekend.........

Yeah but if they couldn't be arsed why not pay someone to do it? I mean cleaners want jobs and lazy fucks want tidiness without effort.

    I suppose........if you're that lazy..........
    That's pretty damn lazy though!

That is sooo lazy!! The worst I've ever heard.

    How big is your house?

Unless its a castle or a mansion or something!!!! How hard is it to wash a few dishes and hoover every now and then.

Also if you get a cleaner in once a week ...............the place is gonna be a kip for 5 days a week anyways because you and your mates are gonna get even worse than ye are at the moment.!!!
