Best ISDN modem = ?

Im gettin isdn now next thursday and im just wondering what modem is the best to get, anyone any suggestions please?

(I didnt know where to post this so just posted it here sorry)

unfortualatly this isn't true

i had the isdn modem eircom give you and was getting constent ping of 90 on cs to english server
now that i have the eicon diva it's 50-60 ping to the same server

it's makes the ping difference but not the download speed. don't ask me how it does it just does

i got isdn to but i get like 100 - 120 on ping and i got the sexy asus one installed

Yeah I had isdn before, My brother got a class modem gave me ping of round 60 as you said cr3mo it does make the difference in cs and thats what i mainly want it for

If I could get the name of my last modem I would be flying cause it was a class one, my brother said they stopped selling them tho :dunno:

Ok so the : Eicon Diva ISDN PCI Bulk, v2.02 is my best bet at the moment?

Anybody any more suggestions?

maybe with theoretical connectivity eg. narrowband, broadband their very dependant on different factors distance from exchange quality of cabling etc. but with isdn it always works at its full potential because its a purely digital connection. so no matter what connection type you use it will work at the same speed as it always does.

now with ping rates they usually depend on packet sizes you can change the packet sizes yourself to improve your modems ping, cant remember how to do it though youdd better google it

Hmm i hate when people say that! Im from Monaghan ya see and wont be able get DSL until mid 2005! Ahh well I guess ISDN will have to do Just wanna get the best outta my isdn line i can :ninja:

Try the appropriate forum for your thread in future then, did I miss some sort of connection between after hours and modems? I must have missed a signpost on my way in.

Any internal Pci modem will do the job best, the best two on average or based on user experiences are the eicon diva or asuscom isdn modems.

There is also a technology forum and a nets/comms forum where you will get proper feedback for a relevant topic instead of posting it in the wrong place where you may receive little - no feedback as your thread is clogging up the wrong forum and is away from where people who will have experience and opinions with things of interest to them.

You still have to pay for the cost of the phone call (if you use 2 lines,it'll cost you double), so it's pretty expensive (I think isdn is about 35).

I have it at the moment because we're to far from the exchange to get broadband:(. An exchange is planned where we live, so some day we'll get it.
