€9.05 doesn't seem too bad on the face of it, but are there other costs involved?

Communications regulator ComReg has issued a directive in relation to Eircom's order handling charges for wholesale line rental. ComReg said it had reviewed a costing submission from Eircom and visited the company's order handling operation in County Mayo before making its decision. In the directive issued on Wednesday, the regulator said it had found that Eircom's most recent submission of charges was "appropriate and should be implemented immediately." The charges, which were submitted by Eircom last month, set the handling charge for a single wholesale line at EUR9.05.

Lots. There are about 15 different charges in there for changes, provisioning, deprovisioning CPS variations etc etc.

Eircom have assembled a special L33T squad of Mayo based Biddies to 'process' the applications in a L33T Biddy kinda way.

Comreg even went on a visit down there to

    a) Confirm they exist
    b) Check the process manuals
    c) Confirm some relationship between the charges and the work involved.

They then approved all 15 charges including the headline one ISTR.

This refers to the one off order handling charge not the monthly rental. The monthly rental will be far higher.

"Wholesale line rental set at €9.05" is misleading.

Bollocks, my bad. I've changed the thread title, sorry.
