It looks pretty cool, but whats the chance of it coming out in europe after the previous ghost in the shell game on the PS1 being a complete flop over here, as well as being crap.

Yeah, been waiting on this release for ages, last months Gaming Life in Japan, gave a bare bones on Famitsu's rating and since the old Fam is usually very stringent when it comes to scoring, this looks quite promising, especially after the disaster that was ps1 GITS...

The reviewers commented that the game seemed to stay true to its anime license and even has good control and enjoyable gameplay. There are some problem areas, though, including one hit kills and a lack of save points, but this is combated by a thorough tutorial. One reviewer commented that the game's maps are a bit on the rough side. We'll have to pick up the game for ourselves to see what he's talking about.


As for the chances of it coming out here, I would say very funking possible considering the movie has had multiple rereleases on VHS and DVD over the years due to demand....

Got a translated HK dvd set of the first series of the anime, its already into the second now.
Picked up the game, quite like it but the whole lack of understanding of whats going on makes for a less than enjoyable time. Its based around the manga styled ghost in the shell (and SAC) so those of you who watched the original movie won't really just be able to jump right in. Similar in that respect to the original game on the ps1, with comedy from the fujikoma's etc.
Well worth a looky tho, the anime series is pretty good too.

The Japanese site is excellent(link below), some really great videos of combat and dialogue...
looks extremely above average as far as licenced games go, but time will tell...
