    Whats your views on the paranormal?
    Im not talking x-files here or anything, but do you believe in ghosts (or even an afterlife)?? what about the possibility of other life?

    personally, due to much anicdotal evidence i certainly believe in ghosts and an afterlife. Im not sure about psychics, although again I have heard alot of compelling evidence from trustworthy people, I dont believe in stuff like horoscopes though, thats just guess work.
    AS for aliens, well, i wouldnt get too in-depth on it, but i do find it hard to believe that out of the vastness of space, this is the only planet to cultivate life.... it just seems unlikely.

    The funny thing is, although I believe in ghosts and 'ETs' I havent actually seen anything to make me personally certain yet.... just some amazing stuff that has happened to other people (or that they have been told by pros)

    no, no, yes.

    The fact that the only evidence is anecdotal is why I don't believe. I dont believe something exists because someone says they saw it. I'll believe it when they show me some proof.

    I agree with Calibos. Gimme proof. But I do ocassionally watch that thing on living tv, "Most Haunted".

    Theres just never any stone cold proof.

    i see your point calibos, i guess its a leap of faith when it comes to things like that, its just that some of the things Ive heard are amazing... really unbelievable

    oh, and just as a matter of interest, what is it about alien life that makes you believe in it over ghosts? Although I am a believer too, its still only anicdotal evidence there too, or as much solid evidence as that of the existance of ghosts IMO

    I don't believe in aliens, I believe in the possibility of aliens. I won't believe in aliens for definate until they build a big spaced based telescope array in space with which to observe the light of earth sized planets in other solar systems and they subsequently detect oxygen and organic compounds by analysing the light spectrum of the aformention planets..... :D:D I think ghosts have been researched enough by now that if there was any incontravertible proof of their existance, it would have been headline news by now.

    People trust science more than stories. Science has proved that we are just a small spot on the arse of existance, so its hard to think we're alone.

    Although science is helping paranormal investigators, perhaps its just taking a bit longer to gain our trust?

    its a figure of speech, if you want to get technical I meant that its unbelievable that you could possibly not believe :p:D:D:D

    tbh, this kind of issue cant really be argued about, as alleepally said, its a mystery of life (for the forseeable future, anyway).
    I just wanted to know which side of the divide people here fell on when all they have is faith or anecdotal evidence.
